Mahnaz Afkhami’s childhood home in Kerman, Iran. Mahnaz spent the first twelve years of her life here before moving to Tehran when her parents divorced. In Tehran, Mahnaz lived with her grandmother, brother, and sister. After spending one year in Tehran, Mahnaz joined her mother who was going to University in San Francisco.
