Mahnaz Afkhami’s archives are currently under development but will contain original legal and historical documents and correspondence from her time as Minister for Women’s Affairs and Secretary General of the Women’s Organization of Iran. Included are materials relating to the United Nations’ 1975 World Conference on Women, among them the UN contract establishing the INSTRAW and ESCAP centers in Tehran, and the draft World Plan of Action prepared by the Iranian delegation. Also in the archives are legal documents on family legislation and civic support for professional women in Iran, scans of publications and research conducted by the Women’s Organization of Iran, and photos and videos recorded in Iran prior to the Islamic Revolution.
